Community means different things to everyone. For me, it has always held a sense of belonging… of connecting with others. It is important for us to see ourselves as part of a community, that we share a land and planet, to feel connected, and to work as a community towards change. We all want the world to become a better place.  We do not have to do much to be able to contribute to society.  It can be in a random act of kindness, a smile, holding a door for someone, anything that puts a smile on someone's face.

I grew up being taught to stand up for what I believe in and for others, and to give back to society. This has shaped who I am as a person. What we can do for others is far more important than what we do for ourselves. I seek to help create a better society locally and globally. It just takes one small step to make a difference and to start a cascade of change.

One who lets slip by the opportunity to serve another misses one of the richest experiences life has to offer.
