Environmental
We shall never
understand the natural environment until we see it as a
living organism. Land can be healthy or sick, fertile or
barren, rich or poor, lovingly nurtured or bled white.
- Paul Brooks
The environment and what will happen to our world is something on everyone's mind lately. Over the years, recycling, global warming, and organic food have become common terms. More children are being taught about the environment in school. What type of world are we going to leave to them? My love of nature and its beauty reminds me how we need to appreciate and preserve this planet. Naturopathic medicine also teaches us to be more aware of nature and the environment, as it is the basis of life. We can do this by honouring the healing power of nature, eating locally and organically, and respecting the natural habitat in which herbs, plants, and animals live. It is the Earth and nature that sustains us, and we must remember that we are a part of nature.
