I chose the image of the lotus for its beauty and symbolism. The lotus is a flower that rises out of mud, growing and moving towards the light, where it emerges and blooms. Symbolically, we can see our own life and life's journeys in the same way.

In Hinduism, the lotus has been associated with creation mythology. In Buddhism, the lotus is the metaphor for the enlightenment (blooming) of man, through the entanglements (mud) of life. It also represents purity of body, mind, and speech.
